“This was one of the best conferences overall that I have attended. There was such a gentleness and appreciation of the reverence and respect for the human condition.”
Pilgrimage: Full. Waitlist only.
Spiritual Directors International offers a pilgrimage on Monday following the conference. Take advantage of Boston’s rich history and make a pilgrimage to cultivate compassion, inner-freedom, and interdependence.
Boston Interfaith Pilgrimage: The Soul of Boston: A Compassionate Pilgrimage by a Native Daughter
Monday, April 23, 2012
8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Join us for a day of pilgrimage to experience the rich history of Boston’s historical and spiritual movements and traditions. Special attention will be focused on nurturing compassion for the self, as we experience the compassion of others along the way. Our time will include visits to historical and spiritual sites including Old North Church, King’s Chapel, the Boston Public Library, a Buddhist center, along with inspirational talks, tours, singing, and enjoying a community meal in the Italian North End.
Anne Ierardi, a second-generation Italian, born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, thought she’d like to be a history teacher when she attended Boston Public School. However, her unique path led her from Boston’s historic Freedom Trail to majoring in art at a Boston Catholic Woman’s College in the seventies. She continued on to theological school and ordination at Old Cambridge Baptist Church in the eighties. She is excited about joining other pilgrims to share la dolce vita through her love of art, music, history, social justice, and spiritual community.
Cost: USD$150 includes midday meal, all entry fees, and transportation
