Welcome to the Crowne Plaza!

The Crowne Plaza St. Paul - Riverfront Hotel is situated atop the bluffs of the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. It is within walking distance of popular attractions, including the Science Museum of Minnesota, Minnesota Children's Museum, Ordway Theatre, Fitzgerald Theater, RiverCentre, and Xcel Energy Center Arena. The National Shrine of the Apostle Paul, Metrodome, Mall of America, and MSP International Airport are just a quick fifteen-minute drive from the Crowne Plaza and can be accessed using public transportation. The hotel has a complimentary twenty-four hour Business Center, and hotel guests also receive free Internet access in their rooms. Other hotel amenities include a twenty-four hour fitness center with an indoor pool and whirlpool. Full-service restaurants in the hotel and fifteen choice restaurants located within walking distance of the hotel make finding a meal easy.

Spiritual Directors International is dedicated to spiritual care, and it is important that the venues we work with support fair and just practices in their relationships with employees, contractors, and clients. We look for venues that demonstrate a concerted green effort that includes water conservation, green cleaning products, waste management, and support of local vendors for food and supplies. Directions: Travel by Air 

Travel to St. Paul:

St. Paul is the international gateway for air transportation in the Upper Midwest of the United States and is accessible by air from anywhere in the continental USA in less than four hours. The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) serves as a Delta Air Lines hub and operates an average of 1,250 flights daily, many of which arrive from international locations.

From the Airport to the SDI Educational Events:

By Car from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) (7.5 miles):

Take I-494 East to Highway 5 (7th Street). Follow Highway 5 to downtown St. Paul. Turn right (east) onto Kellogg Boulevard. At the third stoplight, turn left (north) onto Wabasha Street. The Crowne Plaza St. Paul - Riverfront Hotel will be on your right.

Public transportation is available through Metro Transit, which provides both Light Rail Transit and public bus service within the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

By Bus from Airport Terminal 1 – Lindbergh

To board the bus, you will need to take the escalator up one level to the street level. Take bus Route 54 Eastbound from the Airport Transit Plaza and Gate #4. Route 54 leaves the airport approximately every fifteen minutes and takes about twenty minutes to arrive in downtown St. Paul. Take Route 54 Eastbound to West 5th Street and Wabasha Street. Walk two blocks southwest toward Kellogg Boulevard East. Once you reach Kellogg Boulevard, the hotel will be on your left at 11 Kellogg Boulevard East.

By Bus from Airport Terminal 2 – Humphrey

If you arrive in Airport Terminal 2 – Humphrey, you will need to take the light rail to Airport Terminal 1 –Lindbergh. To do so, board the Hiawatha Light Rail (route 55) that travels twenty-four hours a day between the two terminals. No fare is required for trips between terminals. Once you arrive at Terminal 1 – Lindbergh, take bus Route 54 Eastbound from the Airport Transit Plaza and Gate #4. Route 54 leaves the airport approximately every fifteen minutes and takes about twenty minutes to arrive in downtown St. Paul. Take Route 54 Eastbound to West 5th Street and Wabasha Street. Walk two blocks southwest toward Kellogg Boulevard East. Once you reach Kellogg Boulevard, the hotel will be on your left at 11 Kellogg Boulevard East.

By Airport Ground Transportation

A range of services offering travelers transportation to and from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is available. Taxi, limousine, van and shuttle services, and car rental companies all operate at MSP. Shuttle services provided by SuperShuttle can take participants directly to the Crowne Plaza St. Paul - Riverfront Hotel. SuperShuttles can be reserved online or by calling 01-612-827-7777. A one-way shared van costs USD$13.00 per person plus a USD$1.00 fuel surcharge, and a two-way trip is USD$22.00 per person plus a USD$1 fuel surcharge. Shared vans can transport up to ten people. Tickets for SuperShuttle are also available for purchase at the Ground Transportation Center in Terminal 1 – Lindbergh; however, reservations are highly recommended.

If you have any questions upon your arrival at the airport, the Terminal 1-Lindbergh Ground Transportation booth on Level T is staffed seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Staff provides information, directions, and other assistance to travelers.

Directions: Travel by Rail 

Travel to St. Paul:

Midway Station, the Amtrak train station in St. Paul is located six miles from downtown St. Paul at 730 Transfer Road. It is also one of the major stops on the Empire Builder route with direct connections to Chicago, Illinois, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

From Amtrak Train Station to the SDI Educational Events:

By Car:

Take I-94 east to Kellogg Boulevard. Turn right (east) onto Kellogg Boulevard. Turn left (north) onto Wabasha Street. Turn into Crowne Plaza St. Paul - Riverfront Hotel on your right.

By Bus:

Walk 0.41 miles southwest from 730 Transfer Road to University Avenue and Vandalia Street. Take Route 50S to Saint Peter and 4th Street. From there, walk two blocks east to the Crowne Plaza St. Paul - Riverfront Hotel at 11 Kellogg Boulevard East.

  1. Interstate 94 W

  2. Take exit 243 for US-61/Mounds Blvd toward Kellogg Blvd

  3. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Mounds Blvd N/US-61 and merge onto US-61 N/Mounds Blvd

  4. Turn left onto Kellogg Blvd E

From the Northwest (St. Cloud, MN)

  1. Take Interstate 94 E

  2. Take exit 241B to merge onto W 5th St

  3. Turn right onto Cedar St

  4. Take the 2nd right onto Kellogg Blvd E
